A NEW PLACE A NEW FACE!!

After nearly a year long medically mandated blog sabatical, I am feeling refreshed and ready to take the small steps back into the blog-dom, During my time away I actually forgot that I even had a blog. It was not until this evening during my bus ride home, home being an oxymoron because I still have to walk almost a mile before I get home, I thought to my self, self it is time to let the blogger inside shine. I don't know what a shiny blogger looks like but I will let you know when I see one. So enough of the chit-chat and endless procrastination, I have constructed a list of topics that I will attempt to cover over the course of the foreseeable future. Topics are as follows;

- Taxi Cab Economics
- Fashion was designed to go out of style.
- Sold My Truck to Mexico
- Capitalist and the Cock Fight
- In a Hurry to Loose
- This Burden Called Life
- Prison Strength
- Sunny Day Donut
- Fish Tank Olympics
- Freeway Speed Bump
- Presidential Perception
- My "Kick Me" Sign

If you have a vote of what you would like to hear, or rather read first then cast your ballots now. Operators will be standing by. Z.

Note To Self

It was my grand discovery yesterday, that there are some rather favorable IRS regulations around the ownership of Alpacas. I was rather surprised to learn that these animals can cost anywhere from $20,000. to $500,000. a piece, and in the neighborhood of $300. annually to maintain. All that being said, if you are raising these friendly fellas for profit, you can write off up to $200,000. annually due to this great tax rule. According to my source, fashion designer Marc Jacobs has taken quite a liking to the feel and appearance of Aplaca fur. I think I smell a business opportunity and a tax benefit, or maybe that is just the Alpaca. Opportunities and benefits like this always amaze me. God bless America and the growing Alpaca population.

Just remember it could be here today, Alpaca tomorrow.

*Before making your next Alpaca purchase, please directly consult the IRS regulations.

Pick of the Week: To Good Friday....

*Note: "PICK OF THE WEEK" will not be appearing in this space this week as a result of the U.S. Stock Markets being closed in honor of Good Friday.

Yes, in case you did not know, today is Good Friday and a Good Friday it is. In fact what Friday is not "Good"? Now that I think of it "Good" lends to the idea of just that "Good", in kind of the lukewarm sense. I am not the greatest fan of the "luke", the roomtemp, the "Good", the middleground, the gray area, the fence, the void, the okay, the in between-ness. I much prefer the conviction and cripness of the "Great", the hot, the cold, the peak, the valley, the black, the white, where "Yes" is "YES", and "No" is "NO". So do this for me, let this Good Friday, be a Great Friday. Reflect on the areas of your life that have ran to "luke".

To Ponder

To take a breath takes will until it is second nature.

To take a step takes believing until you can run.

To be married means that life is about two being one.

To have a child is to love deeper than you thought possible.

To live a life and to finish strong takes flat out courage.

Do you have the will to believe that life is about courageous love.

What is your life about?

"..the greatest of all of these being love." "God is love."

Word, Term or Phrase of the Week

back·ward·a·tion [bak-wer-dey-shuhn] - This is a theory developed in respect to the price of a futures contract and the contract's time to expire. Backwardation says that as the contract approaches expiration, the futures contract will trade at a higher price compared to when the contract was further away from expiration. This is said to occur due to the convenience yield being higher than the prevailing risk free rate.

Also note, this is the opposite of a contango. Contango is not a dance or a orange flavored drink.

Would you pass me the contango please? Regards

Pick of the Week: Big Apple 'Copter Co.

I have to write about this company because everytime I think about it, it gives me chills how great of an idea it is. I said idea, not company.

The company is US Helicopters (USHP.OB) based in New York, NY. They operate a current fleet of * Sikorsky twin engine S-76 helicopters providing scheduled metro-hop flights from the East 34th Street Heliport, and Midtown Manhattan Heliport to both JFK and Newark Airports.

All officers of the company have strong share ownership and have exercised little if any of their options since it's founding in 2003. They continue to operate in the red with a -183% return on assets, with a market cap of 35.45Mil, and a Price/Sales ratio of 31.60. Shares have been changing hands in the range of $.60 - $3.50 per share in the last 52 weeks. With 1.04Mil of cash on the books, it leaves $.029 of cash per share, and shares currently are trading at $1.00 per share.

So why do I think this is a great company? It takes an hour to an hour and a half to get to the airport from Manhattan in a taxi or limo. In a helicopter it takes 8 minutes, and you get to go through TSA security clearance at the heliport and avoid the lines at the airport. With record bonuses being handed out in New York, and the continued growth of the financial industry, there is a lot of money around and people have to be a lot of places fast. This is a company in it's startup phases with a solid management team experienced in aviation and building companies.

The numbers are not in their favor currently, and there may be a bit of turbulence between here and there, but the idea and framework looks good from here.

Ultimately you have to make the call.

* This blog is intended only for entertainment purposes. I do own shares of USHP.OB and work in the aviation industry.
